Feel Alike
There are encounters that seem to happen by chance, but when we look back, we realize they were always destined to cross our paths. My story with Debbie began long before the wedding day. It started with a simple visit to my studio.
At the time, due to renovations at home, my two Yorkies accompanied me every day. They were part of the studio routine, greeting arrivals with the curiosity and joy that only dogs can offer. As soon as Debbie walked in, it was impossible not to notice the sparkle in her eyes. It took only a few minutes to realize there was a special connection there.
She fell instantly in love with my little companions. But above all, she resonated with the natural way they were part of my daily life. To me, leaving them behind never made sense. They are family. And anyone who shares their life with an animal knows exactly what that means. That was when she told me about Dizzy, her Yorkie—her true “everything.”
I deeply believe that people connect when they share the same way of feeling. And that day, without a word being spoken, a bond of trust was formed.
Perhaps that was the exact moment Debbie realized I was the right person to tell the story of her wedding.
Later, I had the privilege of meeting her other “everything”: Jesus.
And everything made even more sense.
Together, they are the kind of couple that makes us believe love is still made of simple things: lingering glances, sincere smiles, respect, friendship, and the ability to find happiness in the little details. People who experience love lightly and genuinely, without pretense—exactly the way I love to photograph it.
That is why I often say that my work never begins on the wedding day. It starts long before that. It starts with conversations, laughter, shared stories, unhurried coffees, and sometimes even two little Yorkies that decided to welcome anyone walking into the studio.
Because, in the end, I don’t just photograph weddings.
I photograph people.
I photograph connections.
I photograph stories that deserve to be remembered forever.
And this one began in the most beautiful and unlikely way I could imagine.
Et voilà…
We know how to capture them!
